How To Install And Run Avg 7.1 Anti-Virus Free Edition

Uninstall Any Other Anti-Virus Program before attempting to instal AVG. You Do Not Need To Uninstall Avg 6.0.


You will need to be connected to the internet to succesfully install AVG 7.1.


This tutorial is all inclusive. As long as you follow the steps you should not have any difficulty. It has been written with the novice in mind. Having said that, there is no warranty implied or otherwise with the use of this tutorial. There is no substitute for a vigilant user when it comes to protecting yourself from those who would do you harm.

Downloading AVG 7.1

1. Add this Page to your favorites. You will need to restart your computer during this procedure, and this is the easiest way to insure you will be able to return to continue the installation proccess.

2. Go to AVG Free from Grisoft . Scroll down and click the filname (as seen in the image below)



3. Save the file to your desktop.

4. Look on our desktop for an icon that looks like the below Image.




Double click on it to run it and install the AVG program.

5. Click the checkerboard icon named avg70free_289a392.exe on your desktop to run the file and begin the installation procedure. If you see a box pop up, select the Run or Open option which will install the program.

6. When the Welcome box appears click Next.



7. The next box will be the License Agreement, click the Accept box.



8. Next, the Accept box, also click Accept.



9. After this the system status monitor will run and check to see if your computer meets the minimum installation requirements, If it does, the program will continue to the installation window.



10. Next the AVG Confirmation Screen, click next.



11. It will then actually install the program on your computer, this should take no more than a minute or two. This will be followed by a screen like the one below, and then you are DONE. Some suggest that you reboot your computer at this point. A step I have always found unneeded, but it won't hurt.
